News Release: Aberjhani Explores Mysteries of Creative Metaphysics in Latest Title

Savannah, Georgia (July 31, 2025) -- In Songbirds and Roses, his third Kindle eBook release in less than a year, Savannah author, poet, and artist Aberjhani shares a remarkable story about how an invasion of birds eventually served as a catalyst for a chain of uncommon celebrated events. Released on July 21, 2025, the eBook is currently scheduled to be offered as a free download in the Amazon Kindle Store from August 1-4, 2025.

In addition, artwork corresponding with the release the new book is now available for purchase on his Fine Art America and Pixels.com Websites. The book is currently number 1 in the category of Vision/Metaphysical Books on AuthorsDen.

“What I personally like about this story is that it actually happened and the real-life narrative is continuing to unfold on its own terms," said Aberjhani. “There’s no way I could have known that something I first thought of as private poetic inspiration would evolve over a period of years into a lot more involving music and museum proposals.”

The book’s subtitle, “The Unusual Life Story of an Unusual Poem,” provides something of a clue about what readers can expect from its contents. It would make sense to think the word “Poem” is a typo and should be “Poet,” except it is not.

Songbirds and Roses hit number 1 in the category of Vision/Metaphysical Books on AuthorsDens in the first week of its release.

Mysteries of the creative mind have long intrigued scientists, supporters of the arts, and creative artists themselves. With Songbirds and Roses, Aberjhani provides a blended-genre narrative that serves all at once as a case study, a metaphysical mystery, and an important testimony on why the work of creative-minded individuals matters during the more disparaging periods of our shared history.

Earlier in 2025, the author-poet-artist demonstrated his strategic approach of addressing the impact of public issues upon private lives with the release of two Kindle eBook titles: Greeting Flannery O’Connor at the Back Door of My Mind, and Democratic Dilemmas and Divine Inspiration. The latter in particular showcased his preference for combining provocative art with compelling prose. It also highlighted his style of literary activism as applied to address authoritarian policies of the second Trump administration and promote humanitarian values and practices.

Art from 2022 Flannery O’Connor Review Now Available for Purchase

Of the eight collectible works of art by Aberjhani published exclusively in the 2022 anniversary edition of the Flannery O’Connor Review, two have been made available for purchase in different print formats on the artist’s Fine Art America.com profile and his Pixels.com website.

The available prints include: the cover image fine art digital painting titled Sermon in the Valley of Broken Angels, and the fine art digital photo-painting called: View of the Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist from the 15th Floor of DeSoto Hotel in Savannah, GA, June 18, 2021.

“I went with these particular prints,” said Aberjhani, “because of responses to them from people who have the 2022 Flannery O’Connor Review. I don’t oppose auctioning off limited numbers of original prints, but in this case I wanted to make a couple of popular images accessible to as many people as possible at affordable prices and in different gift formats.”

The 2022 FLOC Review (published by Georgia College in Milledgeville, Ga. USA) contains a full 8-page section which includes a profile of the artist, poetry by him, and the previously noted artwork. Most of the artwork is in the Silk-Featherbrush Artstyle created by the artist-author. In addition to the images already named, others are as follows:

“Some of the titles are direct references to books or stories by O’Connor,” said Aberjhani. “The collection of art published in the review as a whole is meant to serve as part of my multi-media commentaries on the author’s life and writings. The visual part of those commentaries began with the Flannery O’Connor and Converging Grace collection.”

What is not included in the collection or the review is the artwork used for the cover of his book, Greeting Flannery O’Connor at the Back Door of My Mind, as well as several images reserved for possible exhibits. However, in addition to his artwork, the special edition includes a corresponding poem by the artist titled “History and Prophets’ Prerogatives,” which until now has only been available as part of a limited set of fine art poster prints.

African-American Monument Advocate Abigail H. Jordan’s Legacy Celebrated in Savannah

The late Dr. Abigail H. Jordan (1925-2019), who led the decade-long battle to erect the African-American Family Monument in Savannah, Georgia, and who in 1991 founded the Consortium of Doctors, was duly honored in the city July 25-28, 2019, with the unveiling of a new plaque for the monument and other noted events celebrating her legacy.

Savannah Mayor Eddie DeLoach, along with Dr. Jordan's son, Atlanta businessman Ken Jordan, and members of the Consortium of Doctors all participated in the historic event. Mr. Jordan noted the new plaque corrected the previous omission not only of his mother's name, but that of sculptress Dorothy Spradley, also present for the unveiling.

From the inscription: "Educator, Leaders, Trailblazer, and community activist Dr. Jordan's vision, tenacity, and financial contributions were the driving force that ensured the Savannah Riverfront was the home of the first statue in Savannah that honors African Americans. The Consortium of Doctors, Ltd, an organization that Dr. Jordan founded in 1991, made significant contributions to this effort. Sculptress: Dorothy Spradley. This plaque unveiled July 26, 2019." The occasion marked the Consortium's 28th conference anniversary. A television cameraman and crowd of excited onlookers recorded videos, took photographs, and applauded as the covering was removed from the new plaque.

Artwork Added ‘Strong Sense’ of Jordan’s Presence to Event

One key component to the weekend of festivities was the artwork by Aberjhani titled "Historic Triumph of Dr. Abigail Jordan," a multimedia composition which includes original interpretations of images of Abigail H. Jordan and the African-American Monument combined with original abstract art. The piece was used on large framable cards, a poster, a tapestry draping the speaker’s podium at the Bouquet of Doctors banquet in the DeSoto Hotel, and on the cover of the banquet program. The artwork, according to various attendees, evoked a strong sense of Dr. Jordan's spiritual presence.

"As many people know already, Dr. Jordan is a principal subject of the story titled "The Bridge and the Monument: A Tale of Two Legacies," published in Dreams of the Immortal City Savannah," said Aberjhani. "It was my great honor and pleasure to count myself among the foot soldiers who assisted her however we could when completing preparations for the dedication of the African-American Monument in 2002. I'm happy to see that honor extended to this very special moment."

In addition to the unveiling of the new plaque and the Bouquet of Doctors Banquet (for induction of new Consortium members), conference events included a Think Tank session held at the historic First African Baptist Church and a Youth Summit at Savannah's famous Beach Institute. Among the attendees at the banquet was former Savannah mayor Edna Jackson, who was presented with a special award.
